Hunters | One of Ken's best friends is currently the drummer in this band Hunters and is on tour with
The Kills!!! So Ken OBVS had to make a KILLER poster. Gregg Giuffre, you are so ruling our world.
Big Trouble in Little China | When our friend Ben made a hilarious mash-up of Kurt Russell's constant confusion in this hilariously amazing John Carpenter Film and it got over 100,000 hits, he knew we needed to celebrate. So he convinced his local indie theatre in Greenpoint to let him host a screening of the video AND got the greenlight from Fox to screen the film AND worked out a 2-hour bar before all that with a special on mai-tais. We were happy to do the official poster and "teaser" flyers... and will be even happier to have 1,000,000 mai-tais. From the bottom of this girl-with-green-eyes' heart:
I love you Kurt Russell!
Kings of Leon | The guys over at Phear Creative have been hard at work on a pretty sweet project... a documentary about a band you may have heard of... And they were nice enough to ask us to design a poster to get the word out. So here it is! Premiering at the Tribeca Film Festival, coming soon to a theatre near you.
The Beacon Theatre Posters | So there's a whole story about the Beacon Theatre project over on our identity page if
you want to learn more about this great renovation project going on upstate... But what you're looking at here are a
few designs we did for a commemorative poster for an upcoming fundraiser. Pete Seeger rockin' out at 91! So bad-ass. The first poster is the final one; a small run of silkscreens will be at the show this coming weekend. But check out
the others, too -- we really like how each of them turned out!
"Alex Madeger's Tongue!" Film Poster | So when our friend Moebius said he was almost done with his film about
a 12-year-old Marxist girl who becomes obsessed with french kissing, and that he was looking for a soviet agit-prop inspired poster for it, and could we help him out, we were all "you had us at 12-year-old Marxist." Now we just can't
wait to see it! You should get more info and see it, too.
WTFBP | Ken and Eitan were talking about BP and everything that's happening in the Gulf. So they made these.
Feel free to share. Check 'em out along with other creative responses over at Buzzfeed.
Haiti Poster Project | Like many people, we were horrified by the magnitude of the devastation in Haiti after the earthquake. Visit The Haiti Poster Project to buy a print; all proceeds go to Doctors Without Borders.
Light of Life "Check your Neck" Campaign | The Light of Life Foundation’s groundbreaking PSA “Check Your Neck” campaign was developed in partnership with LOWE Worldwide to put thyroid cancer on the map of public awareness.
The award-winning campaign generated millions of impressions through pro bono placements in publications including TIME, Harper’s Bazaar, Newsweek, Fortune, Sports Illustrated and The New York Daily News. The goal of this particular poster series was to encourage prioritizing a check for thyroid cancer over testicular, prostate, and breast cancer,
as it's growing faster than all three.
Shout-outs to Keith Negley and Chip Rich.
"Without Mamma" Film Poster | With film festival season approaching, Ken's friend asked him to design a Hitchcock-esque poster for his short film's investigative look at love, loss, pizza... and the depth of circumstance.
Museum of Sex | In early 2008, NYC's Museum of Sex opened "Sex in Design," a look at how sex and eroticism
has influenced design all around us. They asked us to create a poster series for the opening of the exhibit.
Posters went up throughout the East Village and Union Square and a limited edition of silkscreens were sold at
the Museum Gift Shop.
Special thanks on this project to Bryan Johnson and his twisted mind.
Shade Tree Music Concert Series | Logo and poster created for a monthly folk and country music series in some of NYC's most intimate spaces.
BBH Holiday Posters | Famous drinkers over at BBH, so what better way to bring on the holiday spirit (and announce the annual party) than a pattern of stacked martini glasses?
